(Photographed on a Size L dress form)
I finally used this piece at a Renaissance festival that was Fantasy-themed. I felt confident, comfortable, and pleased with the feel and look of the outfit. It all functions well. I look forward to the next festival or gathering to cosplay.
This is my second dress from here and I love the way they both flow, fit and are actually made with quality and love. Plus, pockets!
Everything about this top is exactly as advertised. Fits very well (I'm a 36D bust with very broad shoulders and fit the medium) so I would say, unless you don't like your clothing fitted and prefer it loose, stick with your "true size". The material definitely needs to be pressed after washing (I hang dry my clothes) but I love how flowy the material is. And the construction is beautiful and very sturdy, I can actually use the corset lacing in the back without being afraid of tearing the seams of the dress or popping the eyelets of the lacing out. I wish I had one of these in every colour. (Little side note... The vegvisir is an 18th century symbol from an Icelandic grimmorie - but a very similar symbol, the Aegishjalmur, is one mentioned in ancient lore!)
I was a bit apprehensive about this top as it was the first item i'd ordered from HC that had long fitted sleeves (i Have quite broad upper arms), but it turns out i had nothing to worry about, after a few washes the arms still fit and though snug, aren't tight and my movement isn't affected at all. I love the vegvisir embroidery and what it symbolises, i think the size and placement of the embroidery on the top is perfect. I absolutely love the fabric, colour and construction of this top, the seams are placed so nicely and the whole top is very complementary of my figure. This top is the type that can easily be worn as a top or a dress as it's quite long, so there are so many options for styling it which i love! I'm 5ft3, 38 bust, 30 waist, 39 hips and always get a size M as it the fit is spot on even after any shrinkage from washing.
