Perfect reception dress for my renaissance wedding! Review by Aidan

I purchased this dress in a deep shade of purple as a reception dress for our wedding last summer. It was a Celtic Renaissance Fantasy theme and the dress was perfect! The modesty panel for the back lacing could be a bit wider, or have a clasp of some sort to keep it in place, but I was able to easily solve that issue. I received a ton of compliments and it made dancing 'til the wee hours of the night much easier than if I had been in my wedding gown. The material was very comfortable even in the humidity of a Kentucky summer. I can't wait to wear it again, and I can't wait to order from HolyClothing again! (Posted on 2/13/13)

This dress is such a dream. You pull it on over your head, though the back laces up, so it looks fitted and elegant but is as comfortable as sweats and easy to get into! I bought this dress for regular wear, just to wear whenever i feel like it. It's perfect! I could see wearing it to a wedding or to pretty much anywhere at all. it's not costume-y, yet it's just like Arwen's dress from Lord of the Rings. so make of this dress whatever you want! Whatever you do in this dress, you will feel like such a beauty! It is so comfortable that after i had a photo shoot in it, I wore it around the house to read a book. Sturdy AND lovely Review by Raghienfried

The dress arrived faster than I would have imagined! Thank you HolyClothing! The Arwen dress is adorable. I ordered the gold beige and the color was slightly more beige than I would have liked. However it ended up being no matter, since the quality and look of the dress was quite splendid. I ordered the dress for a renaissance wedding and will gladly tell everyone where I ordered it! I admired this gown ever since I discovered HolyClothing. The style is so beautiful graceful and classic. I got it in White Ivory and it is so elegant. I do highly recommend that you be sure of your measurements and use the garment size chart as well as the recommended measurements for each size when you do a search by size. The measurements for Arwen are spot on. And like other customers mentioned, this gown does not have the same leeway or give as other styles that use elastic in the back. I really love that there is a small modesty panel behind the eyelets in the back, so no worrying about skin showing in the back.

The white color is a bit transparent which is easily remedied with a light, full length, slip and nude colored undergarments. The trim at the neckline, waist, and upper sleeves has a nice shimmer to it that goes very well with the jacquard skirt inset and the lining of the lower sleeve petals. I truly love the fabrics HC uses for their garments. It feels wonderful against your skin and is so comfortable.

This gown is easily my favorite so far and I look forward to purchasing it in another color or two! :-) (Posted on 9/13/12)

This dress was my first HC purchase. I bought it for Ren Faire. I recently injured my arm and can't dress in full pirate regalia. So I decided to buy a simple Ladies dress until I recover. This dress was MORE THAN perfect. Everybody loved it. The quality is unheard of in this price range. I appreciate HC outfitting realistic women in beautiful and quality made garments. Greetings! First, let me tell you this dress will TRANSFORM you! It is so elegant and beautiful. I recommend if you are between sizes to order the next size up since the lace-up back does not have as much "give" as the elastic-paneled dresses like Haley and Belladonna. And even though the fabric is strong and durable, it is very light-weight and breathable. I was even able to wear it in 80+ degree weather (unseasonable for March in Illinois!) without breaking a sweat! I was very comfortable and felt beautiful. Thank you HolyClothing! This dress is wonderful! The fabric feels soft, comfortable and breathes nicely. Yet it wears very regally. I put it on and saw my husband's eyes widen as he said, "Oh. I LIKE that!" ^.^ A definitely keeper with sleeves that have many of my friends on Facebook saying they have "Sleeve Envy". Can't wait to wear this at Ren Faires! I received this today and put it on and it is stunning! I don't know what else to say. The jade green color with my very dark hair and pale skin is gorgeous. The detailing is amazing and I love, love, love the sleeves. (I recommend for all the dresses and tunics you measure yourself and not just go by your current size that you buy.
